The elongated 1900 dwelling had undergone small renovations without a unified project. All interesting original elements were preserved, in some cases reinterpreting and transforming them.

The central marble staircase divides both the ground floor and the bedroom floor into two zones.

Few materials are combined without concessions to design: oak flooring throughout the house, dark gray aluminum windows, pine furniture, white walls, sliding doors made of collages of old doors.

The main floor, with direct access from the street, is a long open space that opens onto a romantic garden: the kitchen is located in the central part, illuminated by an interior courtyard transformed into a skylight.

The reduction of spatial divisions to a minimum emphasizes the brightness and spaciousness of the structure.

On the upper floor, the master bedroom suite overlooks a large terrace, the children’s bedrooms are connected through an opening where a recovered door with original period glass has been transformed into a sliding door.
